The New Mexico Dance Coalition

was founded, in the spirit of self-help, by four dancers in 1986; it was incorporated in the same year. The organization was granted 501 C3 not-for-profit status in 1989. Since inception, NMDC directors and officers, the majority of whom are dance professionals, have served as unpaid volunteers.
